Key construction works completed for the Auckland Project.

In 2024, As part of the £10 million restoration project at Auckland Castle’s 17th-century Walled Garden, we were contracted to construct a maintenance block, restore stone walls and complete essential groundwork, such as drainage and irrigation systems for the new glasshouse.

Conserving the character of the Grade II listed gardens was a top priority during the stone wall repairs. Our team worked collaboratively with Thornton Firkin LLP, MawsonKerr, Pip Morrison, JCC, and Serres et Ferronneries D’antan to ensure that the restoration was authentic to the site’s historical significance.

A key addition to the Walled Garden is the Victorian-inspired glasshouse, supplied and installed by Serres et Ferronneries D’antan on the upper terrace. The glasshouse serves as a workspace for the estate, but also welcomes visitors, offering them a glimpse into the garden’s horticultural activities.

The upper section of the Walled Garden reopened in May 2024. Alongside this, new features were introduced to the premises, including the Faith Garden, Broadwalk, and Wilderness Garden.
